Yoga books

Different yoga books are written for very different reasons. There are numerous books written to provide background through history and philosophy. They are especially useful for beginners or those interested in starting yoga. They are also popular among yoga practitioners who have been into the exercise for a while but want to gain a deeper understanding of how it works and from whence it came.

The bulk of yoga books on the market are instructional as well as educational. They provide information on a particular type of yoga and outline workout plans and poses. Many include helpful illustrations of positions and postures that are difficult to describe in words. There are books available specifically for beginners, pregnant women and senior citizens.

There are also yoga books written for specific styles of yoga. Many are written by yoga masters known as yogis and outline their own specific type of yoga. Other books are designed for people who want to get specific results from their routine.
